A light rain was pounding on the roof of the Three Broomsticks. Blair was sitting silently at the table that was farthest away from the bar, tucked away in the very back corner of the room. Her long, pale fingers traced the rim of her coffee cup, and her eyes kept glancing up at the bar, as if she was looking for someone and she kept forgetting that they weren't there.
She hadn't came in here since he had moved back.
Blair finally picked the cup up and brought it to her red lips to take a long drink. She set the cup back down, and let out a deep, steady sigh. She was trying to keep herself from crying. Cody had told her how Jenny had fallen out of her wheelchair and broken one of her arms. Cody had told her that he would be leaving in a week to go live with his Aunt again, to take care of her, and that he probably wouldn't be coming back. He had assured her that he would write to her at least once a week. But that didn't harden the blow.
Cody had been one of her bestfriends. Blair had to admit she had a small romantic interest in him - but what girl hadn't? But now he was gone. And this was her first time in the bar since he had left. Why was she torturing herself? She lifted a pale finger to swip at a tear before it slid down her cheek.

Jakob walked through the front doors of the crowded pub, heading straight for the bar. He wore his usual jacket, but the rest of the outfit was new. He never wore what he wanted in the winter, it was to cold to wear the usual outfit outiside. He shook the water from his hair, grabbed the cider that waited for him and glanced around for some company.
The icey eyes glanced around the room, shining like cat eyes in the fire light. Those iceicles caught a glimpse of something... someone they liked. Those mad lips curled into a sweet smile, reminising their first kiss. He shook his head, holding a grimace. They were in public, and as such, would keep this a secret as long as they could.
"Whats eating your heart, you little bitch?" Jakob said harshly as he stood over her, hand over the top his glass. His eyes were pretending to be angry, but the act was good, and he hoped she'd see through it.

Blair looked up at the sound of Jakob's harsh voice, and after surveying him for a minute, she understood what he was doing. She weakly smiled at him before turning her expression harsh. "Nothing you need to worry about, Stevenson." She said, turning his last name into a sneer.
One look at the bar was enough to soften her expression again. She turned away from Jakob, her pale fingers tracing the rim of the cup again. She wished the didn't have to play this little game every time they were around eachother; she really liked Jakob and she wanted to be able to spend all her time with him.

Jakob sat down next to her, then looked around. They werent in uniform, and there werent any slyth or gryf close to their year around. He turned his cold eyes to her, a way of asking if maybe they could drop the charade, just for a little while. "Im sorry Smith, i just thought you looked a little distressed is all" Under the table his hand reached out and touched hers. His tone had lightened up just a little
Jakob hated to do this. Why did he have to be put into Huffle? He could have been a Raven, maybe even a Snake. But no, he was a badger, and he was going to make the best of this sorry little relationship, even if it was probably going to hit rough spots. His hand stroked hers, she missed someone, he knew that.

Blair felt Jakob's hand touch hers, and she grabbed a hold of it and squeezed his hand gently. She looked around too; the bar did not seem to hold a single Hogwarts student. She smiled weakly again, and her thoughts were pulled to there first kiss. It was a kiss she had liked a lot, the first kiss that she had actually shared with someone and felt chemistry behind it.
Blair's eyes found the bar again, and a tear cascaded down her cheek. She leaned her head down on Jakob's shoulder, and let all of the tears she had been holding in for the past two weeks fall. "I don't care anymore, Jakob." She whispered into his shoulder. "I really don't care."

Jakob looked down at there hands smilling, glad to have the warmt... The blue eyes watched as her's let loose tears. She was against his shoulder, tears wear drenching his jacket, and his heart was breaking. He wrapped his arms around her instinctivly, burying her inside his hold. He cooed to her and stroked her hair, whispering words that couldnt be understood in english.
He wasnt going to ask what was wrong yet, she was to sad to say anything. He began to sing to her, a low sweet song from Norway, something he barely remembered anymore. Tears dripped from his icey eyes as he sang, the words so sweet and soft, yet seeming so sad. He couldnt let her be this sad when he was around, it didnt work that way.

Blair allowed herself to cry freely. She didn't make herself stop. She slid her slender arms around Jakob's waist and pushed her face against his chest, trembles erupting through her body as her tears turned into sobs. After five minutes, she turned her face so she could lay her cheek on his chest, and she continued to cry.
She turned to look at his shirt and frowned when she saw it. "Oh, Jakob, my tears stained your shirt." Another sob erupted in her chest and she laid her face against his chest, shedding new tears.

"Fck the shirt puppet, cry all you need to" Jakob said stroking her hair. Whenever someone around the room would turn to her sobs, Jakob would merely gesture for them to move on. Tears specled her hair as the icy eyes bled just as much as hers. The strong arms pulled her onto his lap, holding her like a child, sheilding her from the pain that the world caused.
Jakob kissed her forehead softly, whispering words of comfort into her ears again, the same words his mother had said to him in an ancient tongue as he watched her die. "Listen to me puppet, get it off your chest, tell me whats wrong, why your crying to break me heart" His accent cockney, trying to chear her up.

Blair laughed a little bit, and snuggled into his chest. Slowly, her sobs disappeared but her tears kept falling. She felt so comfortable in his arms. Comfortable and safe. She could stay there all night. She reached up to wrap her arms around Jakob's neck, and she laid her head on his shoulder.
"I just.." she began slowly, closing her eyes and trying to stop her tears. "I miss him. Cody. I don't know if you knew him.. but he was the bartender here. He was my bestfriend. And now he's gone. And I might never see him again." She buried her face into his shoulder and neck, tears falling again as she talked about it.

Jakob held her back now that she had moved to his neck. He kissed her shoulder and nodded. He knew the feeling of not knowing when someone might ever be back, but at least she knew he was still alive. His hand moved over her slowly, glad for the darkness that enveloped him, hoping to god that noone was going to come.
"Love listen to me, people move through your life like fish in a creek. They swim by and stop for a bit, and then move on. Rarely are you going to be able to catch hold of one for more than a little while..." His tears trickled down her cheek and he held her youve caught me for now love, dont let go he thought to himself

Blair looked up at Jakob with glassy eyes, her arms tightening around his neck. "But what if I WANT to hold on to one?" She stuttered, digging her face into his chest again. Did that mean she wasn't going to be with Jakob for long? She didn't want that to happen..
She lifted her head again, and smiled weakly. "Why don't we get out of here..." She whispered, glancing around the bar. "It's only going to get more crowded. And everyone's watching us. Well, me. Because I'm crying. So let's leave this joint, let's go walk around in the rain." She pulled herself off Jakob's lap and stood up, grabbing hold of both of his hands.

Jakob just stared down at her, his eyes full of sorrow. He had no innention of ever leaving her, no matter how hard it got. There was nothing that kept him from staying with her now, expcept the social order.
He followed after her, his jacket encirling her as soon as they were out of the pub. It seemed to be able to hold them both perfectly, shielding her from the rain and cold, his body trying to shield her from the pain. The rain belted down upon their heads, and so the couple set off down the cobbled road, hidden in night.
Jakob watched as students went by unglazing at the pair making such a solem walk. He was amazed by how little people cared if they were trying to stay dry. The blonde smiled down at Blair, his face triumphant that they didn't have to hide at the moment. "I promise so long as you want me I'm yours, I won't swim down river any time soon" he whispered into her ear, his hand held her cheack as his eyes bore into hers. Their lips met again, his way of expressing that he cared for her, a much more heart felt kiss

Blair slid her arms around Jakob's neck. Even in 3-inch heels, he was still well over a inch taller than her. She moved up to her tippy-toes to lean into their kiss, pulling gently away after ten seconds to lie her forehead on his shoulder.
"Good." She quietly whispered against Jakob's shoulder, her body starting to shiver as she became soaked in the rain. "I don't want to lose you." She turned her head and leaned back up to kiss him gently on the cheek.

Jakob bent down for her, laughing inside at the height difference. It really wasnt that big a deal until they needed to kiss standing up. He pulled off his jacket, letting her have the whole thing. The dragon skin had kept the rain out, so that the inside was still warm and dry as it had been the day it was made. His hand lingered on her cheek, then he pulled it away, standing up straight.
I think we ought to head back soon... got to feed my cat, and well the rains doing us no good. He smiled down at her, looking up at the lights of the castle. He looked down at the soaked girl, smiling. You can keep the jacket for a while if you want to, its not your size, but its good for the weather thats comming."

Blair lowered her heels back down until they hit the cobbled road. She pulled her head off of Jakob's chest after a few seconds, sliding her arms into the sleeves of his jacket. It definitely wasn't her size, but it was warm and it smelled like him.
Blair reached for his hand and slid her pale, slender fingers through his rough ones. She leaned against him and looked up, her eyes sparkling. "Thanks, Jakob. I'll keep it." She said softly, smiling up at him. She didn't want to go in, she didn't want to have to go back to the castle and hide everything.. wait, who said they had to hide? What did she care what people thought anymore. She wanted to be with Jakob, and if people were going to ignore her because of that.. well, I guess they'd just have to deal with it. She leaned more into Jakob, suddenly tired, a yawn causing her mouth to open in a wide 'O.' "Yeah, I guess we should go back. We don't want to get sick, and I'm actually kind of tired."
