Lysander is very strong and good looking, but he has the air of someone who isn't going to run up and talk to someone he doesn't know. He's not really outgoing unless he's with his friends, so sometimes he seems a bit unapproachable. Lysander, though he may seem sweet and innocent at first, can sometimes let loose a fiery side of himself, so watch out! He also doesn't brush his hair a lot, so he looks a little scruffy and some people find that unappealing.

Lysander thinks he's athletic, and he has a fairly high self esteem. He sometimes gets a little obnoxious, because when he's arguing a point, he gets very certain that he's right and he can get way too into it. He also often is right, and he knows it. He's aware that he's incredibly smart, which can lead to a bit of bragging, but most of the time he is modest.

- Smart. Lysander is very smart, and so he can pass classes that he doesn't even like. He's also not just school smart, he's life smart. He knows how to simply asses situations before randomly acting, though he can act on impulse sometimes anyway.
- Protective. He's very protective of the people he loves, and won't stand it if someone hurts them. He also tends to be protective of his schoolwork. He won't let anyone copy him unless they have a really good reason. he is also quite protective of his possessions, especially his broomstick.
- Adventurous. Lysander likes trying out new things, even if they get him into trouble. He isn't afraid of a lot, so he often explores places that other people might not want to. In particular, a house on his street that was said to be haunted was once explored by Lysander and a friend, the only two who would. They were caught by the old man who lived there, and Lysander ran screaming from the house. However, since he's gotten older, his keenness for danger has increased.
- Witty. Lysander has a really good sense of humor and he can come up with things at the drop of a hat. he's very quick-witted and it's difficult to win an argument over him. Lysander loves to argue his points, and sometimes gets very into the argument. He will go to great lengths to prove a point. A lot of the time his opponent has given up but he still tracks them down to add something else. This comes a lot from his family. Having a little brother, they often fought, like boys do, and Lysander got very good at beating on others with his words.
- Curious. When Lysander finds something out, he wants to understand it, no matter what. If he sees something weird he'll try to solve what's going on. He isn't curious to the point of annoying, though. He knows when to keep his nose out, but he does enjoy finding out new things.

- Snappy. When Lysander gets very into an argument or something like that, he can become so convinced he is right that he tends to get angry at the other person. He also does not have a very good tolerance for people who are stupid on purpose, so he can snarl at them a bit. Also, Lysander has a big problem with people who don't understand Quidditch, get terms wrong or act like it's stupid. Lysander loves Quidditch, and will bash anyone who insults it.
- Curious. For the same reasons above, this can be bad. he can sometimes lead himself into trouble because of his curiosity.
- Odd. With parents like Luna Lovegood, it's hard not to take after her at least a little bit. though Lysander's Luna-ness is not quite so obvious, he can still make a fool of himself sometimes. He's told people that his parents are magical creature discoverers, and many people just think he's plain strange for it. For instance, in his first few years he often bragged about how his parents had proved the existence of the Crumple-Horned Snorkack and Blibbering Hummdinger. Many skeptics simply laughed at him and insisted that these creatures didn't exist, and he was simply crazy. he sometimes even accidentally quotes his mother, mentioning Wrackspurts and Nargles.
- Tough. Lysander is very tough, and has a high pain tolerance. He's gotten in fights before (nothing serious) and has yet to wind up on the floor crying. He's broken a few bones in his childhood, but he was always able to tough it out. This, however, does not mean that Lysander is tough on the inside. He's not extremely sensitive, but he is more so than most guys. Also, in taking several marital arts classes, he's learned a lot about inner discipline and strength, but some people think that becoming strong on the inside is also weak, so Lysander doesn't parade this fact, but he always does enjoy going out on the grounds, finding a private spot and practicing a few patterns.
- Scruffy. Since Lysander doesn't get up and do his hair every morning, he often looks scruffy and unkempt, which can make him look bad to others. Lysander also likes to sleep in late, so is often in a hurry to get to class, so he's never entirely neatly put together. he always looks a little scruffy, even on the best of days. This is also the reason that he doesn't really like clean cut, sleek haired boys who think they are better than everyone else simply because they look nicer.

he's friendly and has a decent amount of friends, but a lot of people know the Lovegood reputation and think he's crazy. This doesn't bother him because he doesn't like to be surrounded by people anyway. He's also got a couple enemies, because he's very opinionated and can say things he regrets to people, which can sometimes be hurtful.

the Charms teacher loves him, because he's really gifted in Charms, and most other teachers like him because he is very smart, and he passes his examinations okay, even if he hates the subject. with students, they like him well enough. he doesn't have a lot of enemies, and he isn't an outcast, but he's not super-popular either.

Potions and Herbology because it hardly seems like magic to him. he's getting past Herbology because it's easy, but Potions is very difficult so he's doing less well. Lysander likes wand-work, not mixing things and pruning leaves. Same goes for Astronomy, though he loves to look at the sky, he doesn't like doing it for hours at a time and filling in star charts.

- Lysander was born to a loving family, and a couple years after, his sister Valencia was born. the two were fast friends, and apart from the regular sibling rivalries, they got on fairly well. Their brother Lorcan was born several years later, and he and Lysander would always get into scuffles and things like that. The family settled down near the burrow and his parents rewrote Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to include a few more discoveries, including the Crumple-Horned Snorkack, whose existence was proved by his parents a year after Lorcan's birth.
- while his parents were off writing this book, the three kids were left with the Potters and their children, and Lysander remembers running all over the house with James, wreaking havoc, much to the displeasure of Ginny, who punished them often because of this. Lysander shared a room with James, and they had no posters for the walls so they wrote things and drew pictures, some of which the Potters chose to erase because they were pictures of Lorcan and Albus with their pants on fire and such. Harry and Ginny removed these from the walls thinking Lysander and James might get bad ideas.
- once their parents returned and moved into a place near the burrow, Lysander was sad to leave James, but happy to have his own bedroom, which he papered with Droobles Best Blowing Gum wrappers. He spent his days lying on his bed writing random thoughts in a notebook, and whenever he got really bored he would rite them on the walls all over the house. he got in a lot of trouble for that, but once he was ten he grew out of it and became more interested in martial arts. he took classes down at the Muggle village and soon became very good in several kinds of martial arts. His parents, having made a lot of money off of their new book raised them in a large, comfortable home. when he was eleven, Lysander decided to take his mother's last name because Lysander Smcamander rhymed and he often got teased about it.
