Ria drifted into the courtyard, barefoot as usual. Her jeans were tight, but they looked good on her petite body, as did her torquise 'beethoven' t-shirt. She had a white bag with a handpainted flower on it hanging on her slender left shoulder, and she was carrying a violin case in her right hand.
Victoria was in a mood. You could call it a 'content' mood, or maybe even happy. Today, she was sure, she would see her bestfriend Fred, since she would be attending classes (She was on her break, which, for an odd reason, was at the beginning of the day.) And she had made a new friend! A violin-playing, Bulgarian-speaking friend.
She sat down at the nearest bench, letting her eyes dart around the entire courtyard in search of anyone. Seeing that it was empty (to her eyes, at least,) Ria opened up her violin case and gently pulled her violin out. It was made of fine wood, and it was still as shiny as it had been the first day she had bought it, years and years ago. It was her most prized-possesion, her pride-and-joy. And it was also the instrument that made her completely different from her sister.
Danni wasn't good at the violin. Actually, she was absolutely horrible. Victoria had always been the musician of the family. It made her secretly happy, that there was something she could do that Danni couldn't.
Ria brought the violin up to rest on her shoulder, pulling the bow across the strings. She let out a sigh, and smiled. She loved the beautiful sound that this instrument could make. She loved everything about the violin. It was just... wonderful.
She pulled the bow across the strings again, making sure the instument was in tune. Then she started to play one of her favorite things to play, something Mozart and fast.

roxy! [/right] Roxanne lay on a bench, staring at the sky. She had her new headphones over her ears; they were an early Christmas present from her mother. Roxy had somehow managed to get the cassette player to work as well, mainly be cursing and yelling various charms at it. The thing didn't seem to run on batteries, but only worked when a lot of people weren't around.
It was a fairly chill morning. Roxy had bundled up in long sleeved dark blue shirt, skinny jeans, a pair converse knock-offs embellished with a simple black spot(Roxanne had refused to wear corporate clothing as of late; besides, the things we're extremely expensive), and a knitted pullover hoodie she had made herself. It was mostly navy, but has pattern of little silver jolly rogers up the sleeves. She had slaved over it for weeks,, and this was the first day she had gotten to wear it. Her green messenger bag lay beside the bench.
She stared out at the sky, that was blue, for once. A few clouds dotted it, and despite the cold, the morning sun shown down upon Hogwarts brightly. She liked the sky when it was clear. Lying here, listening to music, away from the anxieties of people, she was at peace. Roxy closed her eyes and breathed in, letting a smile come to her lips.
She was in the midst of a Bowie song when she heard someone sit down. The girl sat up, just enough as to not be noticed by the whoever the intruder was, and was surprised to see her housemate and brother's friend sitting down.
Though she had often seen the Krum around, Roxy hadn't spoken to her in years. She had always been more of Fred's friend. Propping herself upright, Roxy studied the seventh-year closely as she pulled out a violin from a case. A musician! The redhead pulled the bow across the strings, and gave out a barely audible sigh. And then the music came.
It was fast, and unlike anything classical that Roxy had ever heard. It was, in a strange way, beautiful. She squinted, trying to see the girl better... The long red hair, the poised and elegant arms, and the slender legs... James! James had a crush on her! Well, he probably wouldn't like Roxanne horning in on his girl... what was she thinking?! Of course Roxy wouldn't be doing that! Besides, Victoria didn't belong to James. My mind has managed to go back to Victorian times Roxanne thought anxiously. She carefully reached for her bag, attempted to not make a sound and interrupt Victoria's playing. But her sneakers slid on the stone below the bench and make a loud, ear-piercing squeak. Roxy looked up, blushing fiercely. She had ruined the girl's song...

Ria let the music flow into her, let her slender arm speed up and down with the bow. Classical music just did something to her. It made her feel like she was in a different world. A happier world. She often forgot that she was the one playing it, and she just let her eyes close. When she was playing the violin, it felt like she drifted out of her body and she was just floating along with the notes.
She was about to play her favorite part of the whole song, when she heard a loud squeal. She was so suprised and shocked that the bow slid on the violin wrong and caused a loud shriek to fill the courtyard. She grimaced and set the bow carefully in the case, opening her eyes.
She stared at the girl for a few moments. She was a pretty girl, even though Ria did not like to think that to herself. She looked oddly familiar. Victoria tilted her head to the side. It was Roxy! Fred's younger sister.
Victoria had never really talked to Roxy, really, not that much. She had hung out with Fred more than anyone. But everything Fred said about the girl was good. He adored her. Through the years, she had heard a lot about Roxy.
Roxy was blushing, obviously she hadn't meant to disturb her. Ria smiled and set her violin carefully in its case, closing the lid down on top of it.
"Hello, Roxy!" She said a bit cheerfully. "Long time no see. Really long time!" She pushed herself off the ground and smiled.
