GOOD TRAITS
- Down to Earth - Realistic; sensible Giselle is far from having her head in the clouds. She isn't arrogant and snotty, and she certainly doesn't pride herself on being the prettiest. Instead, she focuses on things that she finds really matter in the world, such as her studies and friends.
- Friendly - Warm; comforting Though being friendly is often a common factor in certain people, this quality should not go unnoticed in Giselle. Most people (mainly of the female nature) would think that someone with veela blood in them would be particularly haughty and stuck up, and want nothing to do with anyone unless they met their standards. Giselle, however, takes no regards to physical beauty when it comes down to her judgment of people, and therefore almost always has a friendly smile on her face upon meeting someone new. There are times, however, when Giselle can sense things from others that make her smile disappear immediately.
- Ambitious - Requiring or showing much effort; challenging If Giselle is confronted with a problem, she'll instantly get down and dirty with it, clearly trying to find the best way to fix it. Giselle won't quit until she's absolutely satisfied, even if that means working day and night until the outcome is clear. Some of her friends will often roll their eyes at how hard she works herself, but Giselle merely doesn't care. She wants to do as best as she can, and do it the first time around, rather than get it on the second or third try.
- Pensive - Deeply, often wistfully or dreamily thoughtful Giselle often finds herself drifting off into some other world with other types of thoughts. It can range anything from a subject she's been fascinated with lately, to flashbacks of the past. Being pensive helps Giselle in ways she cannot be ungrateful for. The fact that she can get into such deep times of thought also means that she is able to figure out some things that others cannot.
- Truthful - Consistently telling the truth; honest Giselle can't find it in her to lie about anything. It's not that she's a goody-two shoes (she does know when to keep her mouth shut), it's just that she finds much more harm is done in lying than in telling the truth. She has learned, after all, first hand what lying can do to a person. Claude lied to Gabrielle about what he did to her, and Giselle couldn't get Gabrielle to believe the truth. This deeply hurt Giselle, and therefore she had always made a pact to tell the truth unless there was a dire situation that needed lying. So far, she has not met such dire situations.
- Demanding
[/li][li] Intuition - instinctive and unconscious knowing without deduction or reasoning Being intuitive helps Giselle out a lot. It's one of those things that she can't really explain. There are times when Giselle can instantly figure out what's going on, say, in an argument, that she clearly hadn't been involved in for very long. She's able to gather the information without a single thought, and then she just knows. It's something that befuddles her, yet she likes knowing.
[/li][li] Charming - pleasing; delightful Giselle's a charming and polite girl. This always works out to her advantage. She likes when people like her for her brains and personality, and she knows that the charm she has on them is most often that of her words rather than her veela blood.
[/li][li] Stubborn - unreasonably obstinate; obstinately unmoving Being stubborn could be both a good and a bad thing for Giselle. The good point is that she is determined to keep her opinions her own and not let others mold her the way they want her to be. Giselle wants to be her own person, and her opinions help define her.
[/li][li] Compassionate - having or showing compassion Giselle can often feel other people's pain. She always feels the need to comfort others, and she doesn't want people to hurt. Giselle, herself, has gone through a great deal of pain, and knows what it is like to go through it alone. She feels sorrow for those who suffer and wishes she can do everything in her power to help others.
[/li][li] Respectful - full of, characterized by, or showing politeness or deference Giselle demands herself to respect others. She believes that everyone deserves respect, despite what they do to others. Yes, she knows when to draw the line and pull back the respect she has extended, but she's always trying to be respecting of people. [/li][/ul]
BAD TRAITS
- Naive
[/li][li] Pensive - Deeply, often wistfully or dreamily thoughtful Though being pensive was listed as one of Giselle's positive traits, it is also a negative one, though she likes to pretend it isn't. Sometimes when she is particularly pensive, she will find out things she wishes not to know. She will also revisit not only good memories, but bad ones that she wishes not to have remembered at all. Her pensive tendencies have not only brought her joy but have also brought her great discomfort at times.
[/li][li] Claustrophobia - An abnormal fear of being in narrow or enclosed spaces This fear most likely came from her childhood when she had been accidentally locked in one of the many small cupboards of their large home. It took her family and the staff hours to find her, and, when they did, she had been reduced to tears. Giselle has been afraid of small, narrow, or crowded places ever since.
[/li][li] Temper - A state of mind or emotions; disposition Yet another one of the things Giselle hates about Veela blood is that she can easily lose her temper. Unlike some people, who have some illusion of fire burning within them, Giselle's eyes will illuminate the fire much more clearly, making the illusion all the more real. On rare occasions, when she is extremely angry, her face will contort a little bit from the beautiful one people love to see to a bit of a harsh face, some distinguishable features of a harpie upon it.
[/li][li] Introversive - The act of directing one's interest inward or to things within the self Giselle tends to keep to herself when it comes to her problems. She doesn't like to admit to having any because she wants to appear strong. She doesn't want people to know that she's really a deep mess on the inside. She withdraws into herself upon having a problem or when she gets a particularly bad bout of memories.
[/li][li] Meticulous - taking or showing extreme care about minute details; precise; thorough. Finicky; fussy Giselle can't settle with less than the best. She has to have every little detail, every little plan, every little word the way she wants it to be, and it all has to be precise. She likes having plans, and finds life to be much easier with them.
[/li][li] Perfectionist - a person who demands perfection of himself, herself, or others Being meticulous surely contributes to the fact that Giselle is a perfectionist. She never really was intentionally trying to strive for perfection, but as she became more and more consumed in getting good grades and doing well, Giselle slowly adapted a life of striving for perfectionism. The reason why this is a negative trait is that Giselle never can find any sort of perfection in herself, no matter how many O's she gets in a class, how pretty people think she is, or how much someone likes her. She will beat herself up to get to the best.
[/li][li] Demanding - calling for intensive effort or attention; taxing Giselle is higly demanding of herself. She does not generally demand things from others, but she puts a lot of stress on herself. She demands perfection from herself, and she demands that she is never allowed to do less than the best.
[/li][li] Obsessive - excessive in degree or nature Giselle is rather obsessive when it comes to her life. She has to have every little thing go the way she planned it to go. If something goes array, you can count on Giselle to do everything in her power to turn that bit around and make it go the way she wants it to go. Yes, she can get upset if something isn't as planned, but she tries her hardest, and she's damn obsessive over it.
[/li][li] Stubborn - unreasonably obstinate; obstinately unmoving The downside to being stubborn is that Giselle can close her mind to other opinions from time to time. She's so determined and set on keeping her opinions pure and true that she won't always take to heart what someone else is saying. Yes, she does listen and tries to learn as much as she can about everything, but her opinions are something else. She's protective of them, and doesn't like them to be molded. She's afraid of losing herself with someone else's opinions.[/li][/ul]
LIKES
- Her family, specifically on her mother's side - Even if Giselle doesn't always see eye to eye with her mother, she still loves her deeply. And her aunt Fleur is absolutely amazing. She served as Giselle's second mother when she moved from France to the United Kingdom after it happened. She absolutely adores the large Weasley family, and finds that she can't get enough of them. She finds the family charming and amusing, and loves the sense of bonding. The large family always makes Giselle feel right at home. The Weasley family represents the safety in Giselle's life. Without them, her life would be much more frayed than it all ready is.
- Books - When Giselle needs a good escape from reality, she'll often find the biggest book she can get her hands on, curl up in an arm chair near the fire with her cat Isabelle, and read for hours upon hours. Books help draw Giselle out of her world and into another. When she's reading something, she isn't thinking about herself. She's visualizing a world that is different and unlike her own. Giselle likes this feeling, and enjoys focusing on other things than herself from time to time.
- The Violin - Not only does Giselle tend to draw herself out of reality with books, but she also does it with music. At a young age, her mother put her into piano lessons (which Giselle still knows how to play), but she always loved the sound of the violin. So, naturally, she was signed up for that, too. Giselle's love for the violin has stayed, if not grown, with her over the years. Second to her cat, it is one of Giselle's favorite things.
- Isabelle - The cat is Giselle's closest friend in the world. She had gotten the kitten as yet another birthday gift, but it was the one she could never refuse; She had always wanted a cat, and when she finally got the little kitten, she wasn't going to hesitate in making friends with it. It was clear that their bond would be incredibly strong, and even Giselle, though she finds it awfully silly, will talk to her cat like a human. One reason why Giselle loves the cat so dearly is that Isabelle has been at Giselle's side through and through. No matter what happens to Giselle, she knows that Isabelle will always be with her, be it physically or emotionally. Isabelle represents stability, and Giselle clings to the cat for that reason.
- Learning - "Knowledge is power." If anything, Giselle completely agrees with the statement. She believes that priding herself on the amount she can learn will help her succeed in life. She wants to do good for the world, and she believes that she should know as much as she possibly can in order to get by in life the way she wants to. Seeing as she doesn't plan on getting any outside help when it comes to earning money, Giselle learns as much as possible to prepare herself for her life after school.
- Dance - Though Giselle openly resents having veela blood run within her veins, she can't stop the feeling it puts on her when it comes to dancing. She had always been gifted with dancing, and, as a young child, had come up with many dance routines and would often dance with her mother for fun when they had nothing to do. Some of Giselle's fondest memories include rainy days where the two girls would dance on the tile floor in the kitchen, with nothing but silk night dresses, socks and wide grins on.
- Lilies - Lilies happen to be Giselle's favorite flower. It doesn't matter what the color - white, orange, yellow, mixed colors - Giselle will absolutely adore them. Lilies are one of the best ways to get into her heart. Giselle had always seen them as a child. Her mother, too, loved the flower, and often had vases full of them through out their estate. Though lilies make her think about France and her family, she does not hate them. They bring back a time where she felt innocent and carefree.
DISLIKES
- Claude
[/li][li] Veela Blood - Some people may greatly admire or envy Giselle for her veela blood but she does not like this quality. She has accepted the fact that she cannot change her genetic make-up, however, that fact doesn't stop her from wishing she could be someone else from time to time. She isn't your average arrogant veela girl, after all. However, she does not resent other people who have veela blood running within their veins; No, she simply doesn't like the fact that it runs in hers. Giselle wants to be liked for her brains and personality, not her looks.
[/li][li] Being trapped - Giselle is incredibly claustrophobic. She finds it hard to breathe in many a situation, including walking down the halls with the sea of students when she's trying to get to classes. However hard it is for her to walk down the halls with so many people around her, Giselle is gradually getting over that bit of her claustrophobia. She still finds herself feeling a little anxious on her way to classes, but she is able to breathe properly and make it to class without breathing as if she had just run a marathon.
[/li][li] Dead flowers - Flowers are one of the best things about nature. This is why Giselle finds herself frowning when she sees a flower dying. She hates to see the color being drained out of something so natural and so pretty. This is one reason why Giselle doesn't like winter. However, the snow always makes her happy, so she can forgive the season for killing the flowers she loves so dearly. Giselle also dislikes dead flowers because she can relate with them. Like a dead flower, Giselle's innocence has been taken away from her. The vision of a dead flower will instantly bring some sort of pain to Giselle.
[/li][li] Beauxbatons Academy of Magic - Giselle has never been very fond of the school that her mother and aunt represented. It was nothing against either of the two women she loves dearly, but she absolutely can't stand half the people she knows who attended Beauxbatons. A lot of the girls she met were immensely stuck-up, and she couldn't stand how most of them basked in the glory of all the wealth their families owned.
[/li][li] The Unknown - Giselle hates, and even fears, the unknown. To her, life with a plan is a lot less scary than life without one. She feels like she has to know every bit of the world before she can ever be safe.
[/li][li] Depending or Trusting others - Giselle does not like to depend on other people, or trust them, for that matter. She always has issues with trusting people due to her past, and she feels that if she depends on someone, she's also putting trust into them, and that does not fly with Giselle. However, at the same time, she condraticts herself in wanting to see good in others. She does want to trust people at times, but she's so scarred and scared to put so much blind faith in someone without knowing them for a very long time.[/li][/ul]
SECRETS
- Her Father - Yes, everyone knows that Giselle has a father and they also know, or a select few know, that Giselle isn't fond of the man at all. However, Giselle hasn't told a soul why she hates Claude so much, including the family that so willingly took her in all those years ago. Giselle has problems trusting people, but that isn't the main reason why she's reluctant to talk about the incidents. Giselle doesn't want people to know her deepest, darkest secret. She's afraid that they won't think she's normal after that.
- Fred Weasley - Giselle has feelings for her distant cousin, Fred Weasley. The two clicked upon meeting each other, and they've always gotten along ever since. Giselle finds him very good looking and she thinks that he's great to be around. However, Giselle doesn't think she should be in love with him, seeing as they are some-what family. Instead, she focuses on sisterly feelings for him.
HABITS
- Reading - Reading is a habit of Giselle's because she uses it as an escape. There's more to the title of the habit than it lets on. Giselle doesn't like being left alone with her own thoughts very often. She has a wandering mind, and it generally gravitates toward things she wishes not to think of. The remedy? Reading. She can draw herself out of her life and into a new world, a place where other people have problems, romances, thrills, and all of those things that make a good story. However, she strays away from books containing rape or molestation.
- French - French is Giselle's first langauge. Sure, she knows how to speak English, but she has the tendency to break into rapid French when she is angry of frustrated. It is something she has not been able to control, and people generally can't understand her, aside from her Aunt Fleur, who usually talks right back to her in French. Most of the Weasleys can find this quite comical, seeing as they have no idea what's going on, yet the two women will throw insults and anger right back at each other, and yet they always end up grinning.
AMBITIONS
FEARS
- Her Father - Though Giselle knows her father is well away from her in France, she still fears him. She's always afraid that he'll come and see her, and then do everything he did to her all over again, and Giselle would not be able to stand that. She may have been strong enough to survive the first few times, but she knows that she'd break completely if she ever came into contact with him like that again.
- Claustrophobic - Giselle is incredibly -- and I mean incredibly -- afraid of being in closed in or small spaces. Ever since her childhood incident of being locked in a cupboard at her home in France, Giselle has been afraid of being locked in some other room. It's a silly fear, yes, but she's afraid nonetheless.
PATRONUS, WHY
Giselle's patronus is an otter because it represents what she wants to be. She wants to be carefree and peaceful. She is friendly, curious, and graceful. She also feels empathy toward others. However, Giselle wishes she could be at ease with herself and her life, yet she knows that she will never be as free as the lovely otter.[/ul]

OVERALL HISTORY
- Giselle was born on a cold February day in a hospital in France, gifted to a beautiful half-witch, half-veela mother named Gabrielle Blanc, who was married to a rich muggle man by the name of Claude Blanc. It was easy to see upon her birth that Giselle would be one of the most gorgeous children graced to the Earth, and her mother took great pride in knowing that her daughter had clearly inherited the gorgeous veela genes.
- Giselle, as a child, was naturally spoiled by her parents. She had tons upon tons of pets; most of which she had never asked for, but had received anyway. She had plenty of clothes and play things, and she even had several rooms devoted to her in their large mansion. Yes, she lived a high life, and her parents were willing to do anything to keep their little angel happy. However, they were incredibly unaware of how much Giselle wanted to be treated like a normal child.
Unlike some children born into wealthy families, Giselle was never absorbed in the life. Yes, she was very aware that she could have anything and everything she wanted at the drop of a hat, but she never felt the need nor want to get anything. She constantly tried to hide herself when it came to birthdays and Christmases, always pleading with her parents that she had plenty of things to keep her happy. When, in truth, Giselle wasn't close to being happy. She always longed for a normal life, one where she only had the essential things, and maybe a few extra toys. One with a pet, most likely a dog or a cat, not a bunch of ponies and extravagant animals like phoenixes or peacocks. Giselle hated the fact that she was constantly smothered by gifts and pamperings, which, no doubt, lead to her claustrophobia. Her parents, much to her dismay, could and would never notice this displeasure.
This was not the only thing that her parents would never notice... or at least her mother, anyway. As years went on and Giselle began to grow older, her muggle father Claude, who had always been completely unaware of just how strong veela blood really was, began to notice how absolutely stunning his daughter was. She began to fill out at the early age of eight, and this was not to go unnoticed by Claude, who had always been known to covet beauty almost as much as he did his money.
While her mother was out shopping for yet another holiday, Giselle was left alone with her father. She had thought nothing of the recent looks he had been giving her. In fact, Giselle simply assumed that her dear old daddy was just admiring his little girl. This was incredibly true, but it went beyond Giselle's imagination. Claude came to her room with all the wrong intentions that day, and the sin he began to commit would go on for two more years before Giselle would say anything.
When Giselle, at the age of ten, couldn't take it anymore, she stormed into her mother's room crying one day while her father was at work. It was then that she would gush her broken heart out, reducing herself to sobs. As she finished her story, her face buried in her mother's pillow, she would wait for Gabrielle to say something. Giselle had expected anger, but what she had not expected was the silence. She slowly lifted her head from her pillow to find her mother staring down at her with deep disgust on her face. Giselle, of course, thought this to be disgust for Claude, but her mother instantly made the disgust clear.
She threw Giselle out of her room and refused to speak to her. Even Claude refused to acknowledge what he had done to Giselle. So, feeling like she had nothing else to do, Giselle went up to her room and began packing away her things. She sent an owl to her aunt and uncle in England to see if she could stay with them, and then hastily wrote a letter to her mother explaining why she couldn't live in the mansion any longer.
----Dear mama,I know that you refuse to believe me, and Iguess I can see why... Or maybe I cannot, I do not know. However, the fact that you don't believe that Claude has been doing harmful things to me over the past couple of years is enough of a reason for me to pack my things and move away. I cannot live in the same house as a... a monster. There is no way to talk me out of living, mama. I have sent a letter to aunt Fleur and uncle Bill and will be leaving for their place as soon as I get a response. If they choose not to take me, do not fear. I will find housing somewhere and earn my keep.
I will keep in touch.
Aimer votre petite fille,
Giselle
Giselle
The years would pass by in which Giselle would write to her mother and receive short letters. Gabrielle admitted to missing her greatly, but would never leave Claude, no matter what 'accusations' Giselle had against him. Giselle, though she could never hate her mother, held a deep hatred for Claude and stopped referring to him as 'father'. She also never passed up the chance to remind her mother of what big of a mistake she was making, something that Giselle never did with anyone else.
Giselle felt the need to inform her mother of the monster living in the house with her.
----
Giselle's years at Hogwarts could be counted as some of the best years of her life.
Admitedly, she always had a hard time during her first year of school. She was so consumed in what her father had done to her that she found it hard to get by alone. She would constantly try to find someone she could hold on to for friendship, but was never exactly successful. It was then that she really started drawing herself into books and grades. She did extremely well in all of her classes, and made her teachers very proud.
During her second year, she was pleased to see two of her cousins join her at school. Giselle got along very well with Lucy and Molly Weasley. She was thrilled that Molly made it into the same house as her, and often acted as the middle point between the twins. Lucy was the excentric, outgoing one, while Molly was often quiet and inside her own mind. Giselle could get along easily with the two of them, and could relate to both girls. Her feelings of loneliness soon faded away with the arrival of her cousins.
Her third and fourth years at school got increasingly better over time. Giselle started to harden into a different girl than she was in her past. Her perfectionism and planning began to drive her daily life, and she was soon on a scheduel. She'd always make sure things went according to plain, and always felt a little uneasy being around Lucy. Yes, she loved the girl, but she was often unpredictable. The unknown was something Giselle feared, but there was something about Lucy's carefree ways that always drew Giselle in. The unpredictable nature was, and always would be, loved by Giselle, no matter how uncomfortable it would make her at times.
And now, going into her fifth year, Giselle feels that she is as solid as solid can be. She doesn't believe she will be changing any time soon... However, there are still things she is unaware of.[/li][/ul]
