She’s quite the perfectionist, constantly practicing at whatever she wishes to be good at, and she’s hard on herself when she isn’t doing so well. Some would say that Giselle was obsessive when it comes to herself, but she simply says that’s she’s self-demanding. Giselle is an extremely pensive person. This can, at times, be both a good and a bad thing. She often finds herself drifting between this world and a world of her own, one where she can sit and think for hours and either decide things or figure them out. However, the bad thing about this is that sometimes Giselle figures things out that she wished she hadn’t, or finds herself dwelling on her troubled past. It was easy to see upon her birth that Giselle would be one of the most gorgeous children graced to the Earth, and her mother took great pride in knowing that her daughter had clearly inherited the gorgeous veela genes.
- Giselle, as a child, was naturally spoiled by her parents. She had tons upon tons of pets; most of which she had never asked for, but had received anyway. She had plenty of clothes and play things, and she even had several rooms devoted to her in their large mansion. Yes, she lived a high life, and her parents were willing to do anything to keep their little angel happy. However, they were incredibly unaware of how much Giselle wanted to be treated like a normal child.
Unlike some children born into wealthy families, Giselle was never absorbed in the life. Yes, she was very aware that she could have anything and everything she wanted at the drop of a hat, but she never felt the need nor want to get anything. She constantly tried to hide herself when it came to birthdays and Christmases, always pleading with her parents that she had plenty of things to keep her happy. When, in truth, Giselle wasn't close to being happy. She always longed for a normal life, one where she only had the essential things, and maybe a few extra toys. One with a pet, most likely a dog or a cat, not a bunch of ponies and extravagant animals like phoenixes or peacocks. Giselle hated the fact that she was constantly smothered by gifts and pamperings, which, no doubt, lead to her claustrophobia. Her parents, much to her dismay, could and would never notice this displeasure.
This was not the only thing that her parents would never notice... or at least her mother, anyway. As years went on and Giselle began to grow older, her muggle father Claude, who had always been completely unaware of just how strong veela blood really was, began to notice how absolutely stunning his daughter was. She began to fill out at the early age of eight, and this was not to go unnoticed by Claude, who had always been known to covet beauty almost as much as he did his money.
While her mother was out shopping for yet another holiday, Giselle was left alone with her father. She had thought nothing of the recent looks he had been giving her. In fact, Giselle simply assumed that her dear old daddy was just admiring his little girl. This was incredibly true, but it went beyond Giselle's imagination. Claude came to her room with all the wrong intentions that day, and the sin he began to commit would go on for two more years before Giselle would say anything.
When Giselle, at the age of ten, couldn't take it anymore, she stormed into her mother's room crying one day while her father was at work. It was then that she would gush her broken heart out, reducing herself to sobs. As she finished her story, her face buried in her mother's pillow, she would wait for Gabrielle to say something. Giselle had expected anger, but what she had not expected was the silence. She slowly lifted her head from her pillow to find her mother staring down at her with deep disgust on her face. Giselle, of course, thought this to be disgust for Claude, but her mother instantly made the disgust clear.
She threw Giselle out of her room and refused to speak to her. Even Claude refused to acknowledge what he had done to Giselle. So, feeling like she had nothing else to do, Giselle went up to her room and began packing away her things. She sent an owl to her aunt and uncle in England to see if she could stay with them, and then hastily wrote a letter to her mother explaining why she couldn't live in the mansion any longer.
----
Dear mama,
I know that you refuse to believe me, and I guess I can see why... Or maybe I cannot, I do not know. However, the fact that you don't believe that Claude has been doing harmful things to me over the past couple of years is enough of a reason for me to pack my things and move away. I cannot live in the same house as a... a monster. There is no way to talk me out of living, mama. I have sent a letter to aunt Fleur and uncle Bill and will be leaving for their place as soon as I get a response. If they choose not to take me, do not fear. I will find housing somewhere and earn my keep.
I will keep in touch.
Aimer votre petite fille, Giselle
[/i] The years would pass by in which Giselle would write to her mother and receive short letters. Gabrielle admitted to missing her greatly, but would never leave Claude, no matter what 'accusations' Giselle had against him. Giselle, though she could never hate her mother, held a deep hatred for Claude and stopped referring to him as 'father'. She also never passed up the chance to remind her mother of what big of a mistake she was making, something that Giselle never did with anyone else. Giselle felt the need to inform her mother of the monster living in the house with her. ---- Giselle's years at Hogwarts could be counted as some of the best years of her life. Admitedly, she always had a hard time during her first year of school. She was so consumed in what her father had done to her that she found it hard to get by alone. She would constantly try to find someone she could hold on to for friendship, but was never exactly successful. It was then that she really started drawing herself into books and grades. She did extremely well in all of her classes, and made her teachers very proud. During her second year, she was pleased to see two of her cousins join her at school. Giselle got along very well with Lucy and Molly Weasley. She was thrilled that Molly made it into the same house as her, and often acted as the middle point between the twins. Lucy was the excentric, outgoing one, while Molly was often quiet and inside her own mind. Giselle could get along easily with the two of them, and could relate to both girls. Her feelings of loneliness soon faded away with the arrival of her cousins. Her third and fourth years at school got increasingly better over time. Giselle started to harden into a different girl than she was in her past. Her perfectionism and planning began to drive her daily life, and she was soon on a scheduel. She'd always make sure things went according to plan, and always felt a little uneasy being around Lucy. Yes, she loved the girl, but she was often unpredictable. The unknown was something Giselle feared, but there was something about Lucy's carefree ways that always drew Giselle in. The unpredictable nature was, and always would be, loved by Giselle, no matter how uncomfortable it would make her at times. In Giselle’s fifth year of school at Hogwarts she met the one man who she felt like she could ever trust completely. On a cold night, Giselle woke from one of her horrid dreams of Claude coming to her. Unable to go back to sleep, she ventured into one of the many beautiful gardens of Hogwarts where she began to play her violin. Wesley Borgin, a man she had no idea was a vampire, came to her and told her how beautiful her music was. They spent hours together, and, without even knowing each other for long, spilled their most inner secrets: Wes was a vampire, and Giselle was a victim of molestation. Together, Giselle felt like they could take on the world. When Hogwarts closed, Giselle worked independently to reach her goal of being someone who would help others. Her calling came in the form of medicine; she knew that she must work for St. Mungo’s, and she knew that Wes supported her completely, though, for a time, Giselle and Wes were not a couple meant to be. His best friend Hadyn came between them, unintentionally, causing them some heart ache and leaving Giselle on her own, sleeping in the on-call rooms of the hospital she worked in.
