Hey members!
As you are all probably aware, whispers in the air are telling of secret plans and a return of what the wizarding world has been without for so long. With the Ministry slowly submitting to the Death Eaters' will, it's up to you & your characters to either stop them or help them.
Please note that the HoV and TOR are groups of students. Professors are supposed to be neutral, but a select few can be the Death Eaters or OotP members who basically help HoV and TOR out.
Please remember that the actual, core student groups consist of eight total members. Each group, however, has supporters who consider themselves to be a part of that group but are not entirely in that group because of role playing purposes.
All members must sign their characters up again because of the new format. Please post a comment in this thread with all of your characters names and their affiliations. The groups' respective leaders will then decide who will be member and a supporter.
Please try to refrain from being neutral but "leaning" towards a side. For plotting purposes, we ask that members sign their characters up for one allegiance. If the character is neutral but "leans" towards a certain side, than s/he is a supporter of that loyalty group.
* Supporters, as of now, are previous members who were listed underneath our old list!
Once called the Knights of Walpurgis, the Death Eaters have historically been led by the infamous Lord Voldemort. Born into an elite, inbred, and old fashioned way of life, Death Eaters are pure bloods who believe in blood supremacy. Their children have been taught to recognize that magic is theirs and will never be truly comfortable in the blood of muggles - whose blood has been tainted and marred. The Death Eaters are brutal and merciless. They are feared for their sadistic dispositions and their shrewd, calculating minds. Although it is obvious who Lord Voldemort's lackeys are - as any pure blood family would be proud to be involved - no evidence can be produced unless the Dark Mark is shown. When Lord Voldemort touches his own Dark Mark, his followers' Dark Marks will burn and they will be "called". The exclusive group seems to be very small but, as the Dark Lord could never trust, the core members may just be his "inner circle". Lord Voldemort was a strategist and allied himself with many dark creatures such as werewolves, vampires, and giants. When Lord Voldemort was finally defeated by Harry Potter, the Death Eaters were outraged and isolated themselves. Their fortunes were confiscated and their family names were ruined. Minister Shacklebolt, despite his obvious dislike for Death Eaters, has made attempts to ease stigma towards Death Eaters and muggle born wizards. When several Death Eaters discovered Kingsley Shacklebolt's poor financial status, they were willing to offer their offshore bank accounts to the kindly Minister as long as their upcoming revolution was not disrupted.

The HoV is a small group of students who follow the late Lord Voldemort's ideologies and who obey the commands of powerful and nameless Death Eaters. Members are inducted into the elite group to be trained as future Death Eaters. Many of the sixth and seventh years are aristocratic pure bloods themselves and have been raised to believe that they are entitled to enjoy mudblood extermination. Although the anonymous ordering Death Eaters do not sponsor the physical, verbal, and emotional abuse the Heirs produce towards muggle born witches, wizards, or sympathizers, the commanding Death Eaters do not condone the atrocious activity.

Before his unfortunate death, Albus Dumbledore had managed to unite several highly trained wizards and witches to resist Lord Voldemort's increasingly dangerous forces. In the 1970's when pure blood supremacy had been at its zenith, Order members had been the only magical citizens brave enough to oppose the biased views of the Death Eaters. Unlike Lord Voldemort's exclusive "army", the Order accepts a diverse group of rebels who are willing to withstand the pain of the Cruciatus Curse if it will guarantee equality. In 1995, the Order had a revival when, Ministry enemy and Order Leader, Dumbledore recruited former living members and new hopefuls. June 1996 marked the end of the Second Wizardry War and produced a second victory for the Order. Many Order members have since retired but number twelve Grimmauld Place still functions as Order headquarters. Despite the placid serenity of the wizardry world, many Order members, especially veterans, are still wary and hold monthly meetings to analyze magical news, reported quarrels, and educate potential members.

Revered as heroes in the magical world, the Order of the Phoenix never truly adapted to the placid atmosphere the rest of the wizardry community had been keen to adapt. When reports detailing graphic violence at Hogwarts began to flood into Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, Order members panicked. After a quick analyzation, it was clear that the attacks were aimed at muggle students and desperate to protect the magical world from Death Eaters, order members sacrificed their children and finally allowed eager legacies to join the Order. Although student Order members are not considered true Order of the Phoenix members, the Order Resurrected and the Order of the Phoenix cooperate together and deliberate on important decisions - unlike the Heirs of Voldemort. TOR members are completely opposed to the Death Eaters' ideas and unite together to stifle the Heirs' attempts. Violence is condemned as no Order member would like to clean up a bloody mess.
