At first look, Chanel seems sweet and caring. Of course, she has to be like that since she works in the infirmary. She's soft-spoken and stern when she needs to be. It's hard to believe she just got out of school three years ago. Other times, if you catch her out of the infirmary, she seems frosty and looks down on you. It's better to catch her in the infirmary.

Chanel has a good self image, but she's not full of herself, even though sometimes she looks like she does. She's quite happy with herself, feeling she's at where she's supposed to be in life. She's barely even depressed over herself. The only time she gets depressed over herself dates back to the fire that killed two of her six siblings and her mother.

- Caring: Chanel has always been a caring individual. She actually cares about others even outside her job. She really lives in day and night.
- Trustworthy: Got a secret? Tell Chanel and she'll take it to her grave. She will never tell anyone's secrets, whether she likes them or not. She believes secrets are to be kept, even if they are a secret that should be shared.
- Kind: You'll never meet a kinder soul. She tries to emulate her mentor, Madam Pomfrey's kindness as best she can. Usually she succeeds, but sometimes she can come off as annoyingly sweet.

- Quick to jump to conclusions: Again, though she tries not to be, she can't help but jump to conclusions. She's always quick to assume and then judge what she's assumed. She's trying to get over it, but it's a long process.
- Manipulative: She's ridiculously manipulative. She knows how to get what she wants with merely batting her eyelashes or using some other form of trickery.
- Quick to apologize: She tends to apologize for the most trivial things. It can be a little annoying depending on the situation.
- Naggy: She blames her profession for this but she knows she can attribute it to her having to raise her younger siblings after the fire that nearly wiped them all out.

- Chanel was Patrick and Selena's third child of their seven children. They had met after Patrick left school and married only days after Selena discovered she was pregnant. They always treated each of their children equally, never sparing more attention for another. As each of their children got older, they helped out around the family mansion.
- A few months after their last child was born, Chanel and her brother, Alesso were practicing magic together on the front lawn. It was supposed to be fun until a spell Chanel had conjured set fire to the mansion. Panicked, both Chanel and Alesso fled inside as it spread, fighting to locate their other siblings. Their mother was down for a nap and their father was out on business elsewhere. Shannen and Valery fled the house with baby Kristina. While Alesso fought his way into Natasha's room and the two of them went to wake their mother who had always been a sound sleeper. Chanel and Bianca were trapped in the sitting room, but Chanel managed to break open the window with her own hands and they got out. Alesso, their mother and Natasha never got out.
- After the events of the fire, Patrick moved his grief-stricken family back to his family home in England, sending Chanel, Shannen and Valery to school. Bianca followed shortly after. Then Kristina. Chanel never really got over the fact she killed three members of her family. No one ever blamed her, even after she came clean, so she dedicated her life to helping people get better.
