The fire in the common room crackled, and Audrey's eyes regained focus. For some reason doing the History of Magic homework was particularly difficult on this night. Maybe because it was especially cold, or that Audrey was preoccupied by other things, but it seemed destined that this scroll was not getting written. Sighing, she looked back down and the thick book that she was supposedly obtaining information from. "These historians couldn't have written this to be any more dry, could they?" She muttered it quietly to herself. Not that Audrey needed to be quiet. There wasn't even anyone in the common room at this point. Looking at the clock over the mantle, her eyes widened. Holy... is it really 11:40?, she had not realized the amount of time she has spent not really getting anything done. It was definitely time to buckle down.
Glancing over her scroll, she looked at five or six paragraphs she had already written. She stuck the end of her feathered quill (the feather side of course) in her mouth, as an attempt to concentrate. She only needed another scrolls length to be finished and up to quality. That was easily attainable in an hour, as long as nothing was there to distract her. The sounds of the quill scratching that echoed through the damp stone common room were the sounds of accomplishment. It was a sound that made Audrey quite happy.
